We are happy to announce our marriage to all our friends and family. This is not the official invitation, but just a note to give advance information on the dates of our wedding and the events surrounding it.
The wedding itself is going to be a mid-afternoon affair, between 1 and 3 pm, and will be followed by the reception, which will last into the evening. The wedding is going to be outdoors and in the event of rain there will be a tent set up that should accommodate all. The reception will be at the Welch Ski Village Chalet in Welch, MN, just 15 miles North of Red Wing. For those of you with children, we are planning a play area and will have someone present to watch over the designated area and lead children's activities.
The City of Red Wing is having its annual River City Days celebration on the weekend of the wedding. Although this may create chaos to a small degree, it also provides for a Saturday morning road race, activities at the parks, and entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening. This is, however, the primary reason for this early announcement, as many of these hotels are filling up quickly and others are already full.
